HISTORY IN THE MAKING

The Rothrock Trail Challenge has lived multiple lives since its debut in 2009. The 2025 race will mark the 15th running of this epic event.

In the Beginning

Started in 2009 by Craig Fleming of the PA Trail Dogs, the race evolved from a 30-kilometer course that once included a loop of the Bear Meadows Natural Area to the current version of the 16.5-mile course.

After a hiatus following the 2018 race, the event returned in 2021 as a fundraiser to benefit the Tussey Mountain Ski Patrol. A shorter, 11.3-mile course option was added to the menu in 2023.

Seven-time winner and race director Meira Minard, 2024 Leadville 100 winner David Roche (2014), 16.5-mile course record-holder Zach Miller (2:21), and hundreds of others have competed over the years.
